Re: Ryan Adams and PAF |
Here are two of the worst shows I have ever been to:
I know that doesnt help much, but you decide.
You're the one with the request :)
http://www.archive.org/details/2005-07-15.paf.akg-ck63.toddr.30093.sbeok.flac16complete with a review from jboyaquar (always fun to read,
and then vomit). And its one of the shows where the set
list looks good on paper, but the show? Not so much.
or a little lighter sound of the same show:
http://www.archive.org/details/paf2005-07-15.mg210.pasternak.98738.flac16and the next night at RED ROX:
http://www.archive.org/details/phil2005-07-16.akg481.flac16Again with a review from our "JBOY". But also a review from
a respectable forumite: Purple Gel
I had just moved to Denver literally on the 15th, and was psyched for these shows.
I was rather disapointed to say the least. Just listen to the opening Shakedown at the PHILMORE. I was looking for a pillow and a cot during the first song!
They really got warmed up by the time they got around to Help/Slip/Frank (highlights), but I cant seem to enjoy a lot of it, RA just never did it for me...
but thats just my dumb ass opinion.
I hope you can ignore my bad mouthing, and just sit back and give it a spin to nice cup of PG Tips and enjoy.

Re: Ryan Adams and PAF |
I was going to put this link in the Joan Osborne thread but you can have it instead.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIKdcq9gRnoIt's Joan Osborne with Phil and Friends doing a pretty damned fine version of Ryan Adam's Magnolia Mountain. Might persuade your friend to give Phil some time. (And what right thinking person wouldn't want to spend time with Phil?)
